{ What I love about ...... Sundays }

* Waking up early and getting dolled up for church
* Coming home from church and spending the rest of the day relaxing
* Talking on the phone to family
* The only day of the week I never have to feel bad about exercising
* Cooking a nice meal for my family
* Having a nice nap in the Sunroom
* Watching the Sunday night movie
* Having extra time to do things like....painting my nails
* Having to plan ahead for the week to come

{ Do you ever....}

Do you ever see something and it totally just makes you stop and stare? It happens to me kind of often and usually it's because something simple catches my eye [like a color, a shape, or a pattern], and then I sit and stare at every little detail. In India were we staying at a nice resort and I saw THIS......and I sat and stared at this Roses for at least 3.5 minutes....Beauty.

{ Planning Ahead }

confession: i loooooove going to the grocery store. specifically the grocery stores that have lots of fresh, local produce. i don't know why, because i usually don't buy that much stuff, but i love looking at all the fun stuff there is to eat out there! like, love love LOVE. which usually wouldn't be a problem. except when your husband points out that you go to the grocery store almost every day.....secretly hinting that he'd rather not accompany you on your daily trips. it was all very diplomatic of him, and he was totally right!

the truth is......i've also gotten pretty lazy when it comes to planning our meals. which is a problem for 2 reasons: 1. i go to the grocery store every day [this "problem" is debatable], and 2. when i buy vegetables they go bad before i can even use them due to my lack of planning.

SO, wait for iiiiiiiit.......i decided to buy notepads for my grocery lists so that i would be more motivated to plan our dinners, only go to the grocery store once [or twice] a week, and actually be able to eat the vegetables that i buy!!!!!! we'll see if it helps, but even if it doesn't, i had way too much fun buying this little notepads!

moral of the story: eat your vegetables!

{ Life Is Beautiful }

"Because i love making lists, i thought i'd share just a few things i've learned in my lifetime."

be grateful and content at every stage of life

don't be so hard on others, and don't be so hard on yourself.

exercising and eating vegetables makes any day a good day.

life is more beautiful when life is simple.
If we wait until we become perfect before we love ourselves, we will waste our lives. We are already perfect right here and right now.

Place your hand over your heart and feel the love that is there.

{ Trips To Love }

for the most part i really love taking trips but my entire life i have always been a major homebody. i get homesick really quick and i love being in my normal routines and in a familiar space. BUT.....i have to say, Singapore and Malaysia was such a fun break! i have a tiny little tan and a few thrift store goodies to prove it. :)

{ You Are Free To Be Yourself }

Don’t swallow your anger and have it settle in your body. When you get upset, give yourself a physical release. There are several methods you can use to release these feelings in positive ways. My favourite is to scream in my car with the windows closed. You can beat your bed or kick your pillows. You can make noise and say all the things you want to say. You can scream into a pillow. You can run around the house, or play a game like tennis to release the energy. Beat the bed or kick pillows at least once a week, whether you feel angry or not….just to release those physical tension you store in your body.

" We all find time to do what we really want to do."
One of the many things nobody ever tells you about middle age is that it's such a nice change for being young again.
"You were singing? I'm very glad, very well, start dancing now."

{ Simplicity }

It is the sweet....simple things of life which are the real ones after all.

"I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning."

{ Time For Cleaning }

Now after all this rainy days I officially gone into post-Winter detox mode, and I figured cutting back to just one dessert a day instead of three would probably be a good place to start....? ;)
 I've also been on a cleaning & simplifying spree over the past May month and have already gotten rid of bags & bags of stuff. It feels so good! After getting done with my “Autumn cleaning”, I felt like I couldn't even think until things were a bit more organized around here. Feeling very grateful for this random motivation I've been having, and hoping it lasts.

{ Sunny Monday }

It was a little rainy the end of last week, but yesterday was more than beautiful. When I got home from work yesterday I opened all the blinds to let in all the fresh new light. Light was streaming in like it had never streamed in before, it seemed. I could finally see parts of our living room I had forgotten even existed! Colors were more vibrant, and everything was more clear. (Yes, our house really IS that dim most of the year...)
I've had a few moments of clarity in my life that I will always remember, and every time seems to involve light. Yesterday was one of those moments. I puttered around for a little while, straightening pillows, wiping the kitchen counters, and thinking to myself of a nonspecific time in the future when everything would all eventually fit together perfectly.
Dance. ~ It's a release of energy that will always bring good mood. Feel free to express yourself by the way you feel, not by the moves you see on TV.

{ Ocean Drive }

Life is different at the sea. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. The sea has its way of making you live by the currents and plan by the waves. The only time measurer is the sun and you follow it just to see its majestic rise and fall back into the deep blue.

They say that the sea has no memory. I tend to disagree: she remembers me, you, everyone else who has come to greet her. She also has her ways of making you lose yourself, sweap you off your feet and keep you wide awake just by being there.

She's not perfect, but she's the best I've ever had.

{ A Wonderful Quote }

"Dear normal day. Let me be aware of the treasure you are.
Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.
Let me hold you while I can, for it may not always be so.
One day, I will dig my nails into the earth or bury my face in the pillow
or stretch myself taut or raise my hands to the sky
and want, more than all the world, your return."
